Four Black Ants is a set of short parables about four little ants that contains just the right amount of everything – poetry, humour, rhythm, words, rhymes, heartiness and wisdom. They are full of little pleasures and funny adventures, inciting meditative reflections and arousing reactions with their clever sting.
What is it that the ants see when they set out for a lair in order to meet a bear? Instead of seeing the bear they finally see reason! When it rains and they feel sick at heart, they huddle together until their anxiety goes away. In the glow of moonlight they tell each other fairy tales that take them on a journey around the world, where the sun looks like a sweet mandarin that will melt them into sun rays as soon as they approach. Having no ears, they pin their earrings on hats and shawls for he who sees with all his heart, knows no boundaries. Just as the sea that they consider to be their home, although they have never paddled in it. On the outside the sea ants look like the other members of their species. And on the inside, on the inside they have a heart that is as boundless as the sea.
