As the children follow the story about the nightly fears of the little frog, they, too, are a little afraid, since they identify with him; together with the frog, they search for the solution and seek solace and in the process resolve their tensions and issues. This way, a play can also become a space where children can "enter" and realise that it's not that bad if you are small and fearful. Stories like this convey an important message to children: fear exists, and no one is immune to being afraid.
In 2010, Kitty Crowther (1970), a Belgian illustrator and writer, received the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for children’s literature. In its explanation, the jury wrote that, in her world, the door between imagination and reality is wide open. The author has written and illustrated more than forty books, which have been translated into twenty languages. She first appeared in Slovenian in 2012 precisely with the picture book Scritch Scratch Dip Clapote!
Ivana Djilas directs in many professional theatres and theatre groups. Since 2004, she has been the head and the producer of the Familija theatre group. She intensively focuses on performances for youngsters and children. In LGL’s last season, she directed Goose the Bear, which presented to the youngest a few quite essential questions on co-existence and the acceptance of others.Premiere: 23rd September 2017, Small Stage LGL
